Starting a new school is like preparing to welcome a new family member. There is excitement, anticipation, and countless little details to attend to. As Charlith Academy prepares to open, we want to take you behind the scenes.
The Journey So Far
It began with a simple question: what would an ideal school look like? Our founders spent months visiting other schools, talking to parents, and researching best practices. They asked questions like:
- What do parents truly want from a school?
- What makes a classroom truly welcoming?
- How can we make quality education affordable?
- What do children need to succeed in today’s world?
The answers to these questions shaped every decision we’ve made.
What We’re Working On Now
The Physical Space
Walking through our future school today, you would see busy workers putting finishing touches on classrooms. Walls are being painted in calm, welcoming colors. Floors are being prepared for little feet. Windows are being fitted with safety features.
Our playground equipment has been selected and is ready for installation. Every slide, swing, and climbing structure has been chosen with both fun and safety in mind.
Learning Materials
In our storage area, boxes are stacked high with textbooks, storybooks, learning aids, and classroom supplies. We’ve been carefully selecting materials that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with our educational philosophy.
Our Team
Interviews are ongoing as we build our team of teachers and staff. We’re looking for more than qualifications—we’re looking for people who share our vision and have hearts for children.
Every applicant is asked not just about their experience, but about their approach to discipline, their understanding of child development, and their philosophy of education.
Policies and Procedures
Behind every smooth-running school are countless policies and procedures. We’re developing handbooks for parents and staff, safety protocols, emergency plans, and daily routines. These details matter because they create the structure that allows children to feel safe and secure.
The Challenges
Starting a new school isn’t easy. There are permits to obtain, inspections to pass, and regulations to meet. There are unexpected delays and last-minute adjustments. There are moments of doubt and questions about whether we’ve thought of everything.
But every challenge reminds us why we’re doing this. The goal—a school where children thrive—is worth every obstacle.
